The club began in 1997 with the
arrival of our six-person Pacific Islander from Australia (a Bradley
variant made by Anderson Canoes). The canoe used to have the words
"Mooloolaba Hotel and Canoe Club." For a few years it
read "Mooloo Hot Canoe."
We've received support over
the years from a number of organizations. Xylo
Bladz donated our club paddles and continues to be our preferred
blade supplier. The Scout Association
of Hong Kong has been fantastic in providing affordable storage
and launching facilities. On the other hand, Patagonia
sponsored our trip to Hamilton Island in June 2003. We also appreciate
all of the assistance that has come from paddlers across the Pacific!
