Pak Sha Wan -- Sai
Kung |

The boat is kept at the Scout
Centre in Pak Sha Wan (aka Hebe Haven). There
are two ways to get there by MTR and minibus. From Hong Kong Island, take
the MTR to the Hang Hau station and then choose the 101 green
minibus. From Kowloon, take the MTR to the Choi Hung station and then hop on the 1A
green minibus. For both, ask
the driver for the Pak Sha Wan stop. Once you get off, the Scout
Center is located just north of the Hebe Haven Yacht Club (continue up
the main road, turning right into the public parking lot at the top of
the rise). |

By car, head to Sai Kung. Pak Sha Wan is a
few kilometers before Sai Kung proper. It will be the first harbor
you see with a large number of moored sailing yachts. Also, keep a
look out for the Sampan restaurant and the Hebe Haven Yacht Club.
Once you've located these, continue up the road to the public parking
lot at the top of the rise (2 hour pay and display). If there are no spaces,
there is a street (Habitat Street) that always has space. The
police ticket randomly on the lower portion of Habitat, so park further
up in front of the apartments. Habitat is opposite the entrance to the parking lot. |

A typical session lasts about 1 1/2 to 2 hours
(you aren't paddling the whole time), with 15 minutes before and after
to move the boat. Be sure to bring water (especially during the
summer), sun block (if you need it), and clothes that you can get wet
in. Most of us paddle in swimsuits and wear sandals or Tevas. |
